Swiss Alps/Dolomites Andermatt Bergun Cortina 3 Stop Cycle Tour

This is a cycling tour which covers similar territory and distances as the Multi-stop cycling tours but with the benefit of being able to enjoy 2-3 days in spectacular locations across the alps from which any number of day rides are possible.

Our first port of call after leaving the Zurich and the Appenzell region on our bus is Andermatt, a quintessential Swiss town which lies at the virtual intersection of two large valleys deep in the Swiss Alps. From here we can enjoy two different cycling adventures. On day one, the Susten, Grimsel and Furkha Passes in a loop back to Andermatt and on day two a short bus trip takes us to the base of the Klausen Pass and a loop via the Pragel Pass back to Andematt. This landscape on this day is almost unrivalled in Switzerland with magnificent views from the bike of the Klontaler See and Lake Lucerne for many, many kilometres! An alternative option for either day is the loop into Italy and back via the Furkha, the Nufenen and the St Gottardo.

After Andermatt we make our way to Bergun and have on our doorstep the Albula Pass and on day one, a loop through the mighty Fleula Pass at around 2,400metres and on day two through the Julier Pass with views of the beautiful Silvaplana See en route.

From there we head to Cortina d Ampezzo in the Italian Dolomites and take in some of the famous passes of the Giro d Italia, namely the Falzarego, Giau and Valparola. A ride to the beautiful Lake Misurina is not to be missed on our second day in Cortina.

From there we make our way back toward Zurich, not before spending a night in a mountain hut high in the Alpstein region of the Swiss Alps!
